The Chairman's Son, Chapter 1
Chapter 1; Questions
20 years ago, 1st day of Hail
House of Richard Prescott, City of Hanavi, 13:00
"Dad, I'm going out!" shouted a voice from the foyer. The voice resonated throughout the halls of the large mansion. There was silence for a few moments, followed by the footsteps that resonated back to the young boy.
"Where are you heading this time, my boy?" another, older voice came. An elderly man had stepped into the foyer from another room, and smiled at the young boy.
"Hello, Grandpa David. I was just going out with my friends for the day." James said. James, age 5, was small for his age. He stood at about 3'6", and had the energy of a 12 year old. His black hair, even at his young age, covered his eyes, and was constantly flipping them out of his view. "The usual."
"Will Meagan be there?" David grinned, as he bent down to James' level.
"What?! No!" James stuttered, turning a bright red color.
Meagan, the daughter of James' next door neighbors, was James' c

The Chairman's Son
THE CHAIRMAN'S SON
22:15 p.m., 30th day of Storm
COG Barrack #38
The wind was blowing harder than normal, the COG flags whipping their poles as the last few 'Dills rolled in. There was a storm coming alright, and it was a big one. As the last 'Dill rolled in, a loud revving noise started followed by the whirring of the gears turning, closing the gate behind the 'Dill.
The APC's rolled in, moving into their designated spots, and powered down, quieting the barracks down to just the wind and the conversations of the Gears.
"Any luck, Lieutenant?" a low voice boomed from across the hall.
Some Gears turned and stood attention as Colonel Hoffman walked through the barracks. Their attention went back to cleaning their kits, finishing their beers, and continuing their conversations.
"Negative, Victor. We could've stayed out longer, but the storm made us come back." A voice said from inside the last APC that rolled in. The blade of a Retro Lancer pulled out of the APC first, glistenin

The ashes are carried by the wind out of Marcus' hands.
He holds the cog tag gently, barely touching it.
The energy waves over his head seem natural, like a part of the weather surrounding him inside his quiet mind. There is nothing left to say.
There is no words left for him to utter.
Anya, Baird and Cole are holding onto their weapons, not moving behind Marcus and the remains of his father.
This place is sacred, they've got nothing to say but silent prayers for Marcus.
That perhaps in the end he will be all right.
You're with Dom now
It feels heavy on his chest that they're all gone. He's alone.
What is left? What is left of them? He questions himself.
The surroundings are quiet as she meets Dominic's eyes again.
He looked so old now, Marcus thought to himself.
It was almost like he had aged the time Radio was away. But the light in his face now Marcus couldn't describe the happiness.
She shivers as he holds her tiny body in his strong arms.
ORIGINS PART 51
She wakes up dazed a few seconds later feeling the floor almost giving in for the massive gunker.
It has moved away from her, figured her dead and now on a quest to tear apart the elevator.
She grabs her boltok and fires unsteadily into its body.
It turns to her slowly and its battle cry fills her head.
"Why not take the stairs for a change?" she shouts, knowing her taunt doesn't mean anything to the outraged monster in front of her. All it sees is another host to infect.
Close up the gunker is more deadly than any foe she has encountered.
It slings its arm another time towards her and she barely manages to evade the hit.
She runs deeper into the hallway towards Adam's office.
She needs to lure it away from the elevator and into a safer area for herself.
For the first time it is almost as if the obscure corner of her mind, the dark passenger is testing her and evaluating how good she is doing without it.
She feels relieved knowing it is not present to mess up the mission,

ORIGINS PART 50
Azura Central tower Outside Adam's office
1 hour and 30 minutes after the shut down of the maelstrom
Marcus lets go off the hot turret as the last lambent splatters over a green marmor pillar inside the tower.
He cannot take his eyes of the man in front of him, the familiar figure with a gun in his steady big hands.
He doesn't know what to feel or what to say about what had just happened.
When the doors opened, I expected to find a recorder with my father's voice playing over and over ... It seemed more realistic
But just like in New Hope, he has to focus on their mission and not allow his mind to think outside the given orders.
It is hard not to offer his father a thought now that he is standing right in front of him.
Marcus moves slowly towards Adam, but not too close.
It feels unnatural to approach him in this setting, being trapped in this last stand.
Adam turns to him and their eyes meet.
Marcus stares at him, but the moment is rapidly interrupted by
ORIGINS PART 47
1 hour after the shut down of the maelstrom
There comes a time where humans doubt.
We doubt because we do not know. We reflect because we can not speak.
We can not speak because we can not comprehend the situation, our reality.
Will the time come where we are left the speechless kind?
I fear the time where no stories are told anymore.
"All quiet on your end?" the sergeant utters as he moves carefully towards the soldier in front of him.
The sniper lets his guard down and pulls the security on at his longshot.
The other sergeant smirks under his helmet at the sniper's carefulness when it comes to maintaining weapons properly. Whatever they had learned as rooks didn't count for shit in this war, and still the sniper was upholding old rules like he was supposed to.
"I think we were left a dead end, sarge. Haven't seen movement since that boomer walked into the north hall," he utters while pulling off his helmet.
The sergeant nods before they
ORIGINS PART 48
The Kantus is now only a few meters away from them and the father starts spraying it.
The bullets fall into the sand and the Kantus does not even notice the two soldiers trying to bring it down.
Looking into its eyes, they could see fear as it ran by.
The father is puzzled by the last picture of the startled Kantus after it has entered the north hall.
The doors are still open and the son moves cautiously towards the gate.
In the following seconds, the father turns to the direction where the Kantus had emerged and the ground starts to shake.
He does not have time to reach his son before a rumbling sound cuts his communication and a bright light blocks his vision.
He is left defenseless on the ground by the unknown and fast moving object.
The son turns to face the same light as his father, briefly three meters away from him.
He has no time to evade it so he desperately pulls up his longshot and fires directly at it.
A whining sound emerges and the light is more resistant. Time moves slow
ORIGINS PART 49
1 hour and 15 minutes after the shut down of the maelstrom
Kavv runs faster than his body can take. He feels his legs giving in and his heart almost exploding in his chest.
They're all dead. Piles of locust warriors laying spread around the north hall, failing their task and failing their Queen. And he could understand why.
This was not the human he had been told of and observed for some time to please the Queen and aid her in their mission. This was not human anymore.
He knows it is tracking him as it hides somewhere in the dark hall.
The only way out is the door he went in and he does not possess enough power to make a run for it.
He pulls out his gorgons, paranoid and shaky pointing across the large hall. It could be anywhere.
He breathes heavily as he turns from side to side, determined to survive and to obey the Queen's last words.
A light giggle is heard to his left and he pulls the trigger rapidly only to realize his guns are jammed. In dread he tries

Zeak Iacuzo's random thinking.
I fragging don't want to be here with both of theme. I hate both of themes. I lost the entire thing I love when the war with Locust began and I'm a traitor for the COG. And now I'm a prisoner with both of theme. The other human don't know there is Locust here. But when they will, there will b war, and I will finally be able to kill both.
Moira was confused. The guard had take theme to a weird section in the center with the other prisoner. Anna was in front of her, stressed, and Zeak was behind her. He was quiet. Too quiet.
One of the guard ask to the 50 prisoner to form 5 rows of 10. They take Anna, becoz she was the first in the line. A guard followed buy a Silverback take the young lady to a lil corridor underground.
ORIGINS PART 46
The other gears reunite as the grubs are finally creasing in number.
"Where the fuck did she go? We need to get up there now!" Baird utters while taking cover next to Marcus.
Marcus watches Anya blow the arm of the last grub before aggressively curb stomping it.
"She ran after a kantus," he mutters, looking over the bloody courtyard.
With no hostiles detected, he gets up quickly but feels faint by the blood loss.
He squints at the flesh wound, it would certainly leave a mark.
But it did not matter now.
"Oh, the kantus that gave you that scrape? Must be real fucking nice having a personal assassin!" he says with a bitter tone.
He reflects over Baird's point of view before uttering "All right, let's go."
"Err ... what about supergirl? We just gonna leave her to the grubs?" Cole asks and Anya walks up beside them with the empty gorgon pistols.
"She'll make it," she utters before throwing the gorgons away and picking up her lancer.
The group walks halfhearted away from the court
ORIGINS PART 45
Anya grabs Marcus' shoulder with a desperate expression.
Baird and Cole are standing in front of him, perplexed in the now silent surroundings.
Are we dead?
A pulsing sound is constantly rumbling and they behold a great shelter of magnetic force around them.
The war had been put on pause inside the force field of the child.
Grubs arriving at a higher level are moving reluctantly towards them.
"This is just ... sick," Baird utters as he touches the magnetic walls of protection.
They turn to the subject walking towards them and where she moves, the force field follows.
"Take out that Mortar now," she almost commands and with no warning the bubble of safety
disappears and leaves them to reality once again.
Marcus is a quick thinker together with his squad and they all assemble swiftly.
Time is short as the Mortar hitman is turning towards them, loading another missile of brutal force.
But this time his head is not protected and neither is it hidden.
"I've had it with you!" C
ORIGINS PART 44
50 minutes after the shut down of the maelstrom
The group keeps heading down the hallways with Adam as guide through the radio.
Marcus has not said a word concerning Radio's presence yet as she lurks behind him like a dog behind its master.
Anya gives her a doubtful look now and then. She knows something is wrong but does not have the courage to confront her strange behavior and neither the time.
At the Sovereign they connected and all those hours in the lab caused her to see Radio as someone close. She was so bright, so untouched by the hazardous world around her.
The sight of her now is overwhelming and the child is only a stranger she can not understand.
A distant sound of water is the only thing that meets the gears before they enter the dead silent surroundings in front of the tower where Adam is being held.
The courtyard is untouched and a fountain sprays water over the astounding constructions.
"Not good," Cole utters quietly, referring to the silence

A Time For Us
The sound of the surf
Your whispered love
The warmth of your skin against mine
Remember the good times, the better times
This horrible pit, the blinding pain
Don't look at me
Remember the good times, the better times
I see your face, hear your voice
I see the pain in your eyes
I want so badly the good times, our time
We both know what you have to do
It hurts so much, it will hurt forever
But nothing can be the same again
It will be okay, I need this, want this
I'm too far gone
You must live for the both of us now
I'm not scared anymore
Because we'll be together again
And then there will be

ORIGINS PART 35
Char is big, but her ways of infiltrating technology and gain contact are greater.
The helicopter would have her on the radar in no time.
Although she feels a certain victory in awakening a radio signal and achieving an almost impossible task mostly based on luck, she is repeatedly interrupted by flashing memories of a darker past.
The dark passenger grew stronger when she used her powers at the radio almost as if it was feeding on her energy.
She tries to shake it off, but it wont leave her so easily this time.
As she pictures Griffin's aimed gun and hostile approach, it triggers something inside her.
The short power supply she converted from Marcus' suit is rapidly spilled as she pounds her fist into the soil and detonates a shock wave with a terrifyingly large radius.
Almost like a punishment, the parasite throws her breathless on the ground yet again drained of energy.
But it does not kill her, only proves itself a worthy challenger before leaving.
She picks herself up,
