Journal Headers and Footers Contest

Hello there, Gearheads! It's time for another contest to be made here in this club! Are you guys ready? Good!

Here's the topic... in this month's contest, you will be making a header and/or footer for the journals here on this account! Why? Because I had promised you all that I'd get a premium membership for this club, and since *zenithomishu has kindly offered to purchase one for the club (thank you so much ), I wasn thinking of designing the perfect layout for the journal so it can give it the look this club highly deserves. Also, since you members are all dedicated to join here and participate in these kind of contests, it's more rewarding to have your work featured at the front of the journals instead of mines alone! Besides, you guys are the ones who are keeping this club alive!

Make sure that the drawings are purely based on Gears of War, and only that series only, or your entry will not be accepted.


Here are some of the rules you must follow:

The contest entries will be accepted only by members of the club. (If you want to sign up for membership, just leave me a note saying you want to join the club.)
The contest entries must follow DA's rules and regulations. (For example, if a drawing has nudity or gore, you must use a warning filter. It's mandatory, even if you think it might not be necessary at all.)
The contest entries can be drawn from sketch or you can use official images (such as screenshots, wallpapers, etc.) from the game or comic books. If you're going to draw them out, it's best if you clean them up and color them in. Remember, this is going in the journals, so be sure to make is as neat as you can!
The contest entries must be related to Gears of War. I will not accept an entry if it has a crossover with your original characters, other game characters, etc.
The contest entries can have a maximum amount of blood and gore, but no nudity, and if it exceeds the amount given to you, the entries will not be acceptable to enter in the contest.
The contest entries must be CREATIVE. Don't try to pull something out that you've already did a month ago or two years ago. I want something new to put up this year as a header/footer for the journals.
You can either choose to make the headers or footers, but be sure that the required materials given to you are used when you're making them. (look at the resources at the top.)
You can enter as much as 6 entries [per member] (3 headers and/or 3 footers; or 6 headers; or 6 footers; etc.), but no more than the amount given.
The contest entries can be in a JPEG or PNG format, but not in BMP formats. (I would recommend PNG formats, because it makes it that wonderful to have your images pop out.)
When you're making the drawings, try to make them easy to visualize and not so overly detailed, and also get them to fit DA's style so the whole design wouldn't seem so out of place. If not, then try your best and see what you can come up with. Like I said before, just be creative.


If you want to submit your entry, follow these guidelines:

Send me a comment of your drawing ONLY on this journal.
Send me a note of your drawing, and title it "Contest Entry".


And lastly, here are the prizes that'll be given out to the winners:

1st Runner-Up

- Slot Open To Do Prize


The contest will begin at August 16, 2009 at 12:00 a.m. GMT (Mountain Time) and will end at September 15, 2009 at 10:00 p.m. GMT (Mountain Time.)

Until the deadline has been reached, the voting will start to take place to determine the winners of the contest. You'll have a whole month to make your entry and submit it on time, so don't expect an extension for the date. I hope to see most of you members participating in this contest, so get started, soldiers, and make me proud!
